GPS Development Services from Wireless
Integrated
At Wireless integrated, we offer a range of GPS design, development,
contracting and programming services, and applications. We use our
expertise in the field to deliver custom mobile systems that integrate
the power of GPS development services for uses like navigation,
tracking, data collection, and others.
This section introduces you to what GPS development is, and why GPS
applications are changing the transport and communications field. Our
whitepapers and case studies take an in-depth look at the aspects and
features of GPS development services.
GPS Design &
Development Services from Wireless Integrated
Receiver Technology: Wireless integrated specialize in developing
GPS Receivers in the form of GPS module, GPS mouse, GPS data loggers. We
have experience with GPS chipsets from leading IC manufacturing
companies and can develop a custom GPS receiver for your requirements.
Navigation & Guidance: GPS Navigation & Guidance equipment
development services offer design and development of GPS Display devices
like GPS way point tracker, GPS Map device, GPS PDA, GPS Car navigation
system, GPS Guide etc.
Survey & Map:
Wireless Integrated offer Survey & Map digital GPS map development
services. We have worked with hundreds of GPS Maps, convert digital maps
into GPS maps, Survey regions and develop GPS maps. We can take
assignments to develop GPS map or a country to a GPS map of a golf
course.
GPS Tracking/Wireless: Wireless integrated offer design and
development services for wide range of GPS Tracking devices like GPS
Vehicle tracking unit, GPS Animal tracking unit, GPS child tracker. We
have developed embedded architectures to design low end low cost devices
to high end feature rich GPS Tracking systems for modern tracking and
control applications.
Timing: GPS
Receivers provide most accurate timing information. Many networking,
wireless and mobile applications require highly accurate time based on
location. We design & develop custom Timing devices based on GPS
technology.
GPS Software:
Wireless Integrated design and develop Software for GPS receivers and
Tracking systems. GPS navigation support software, GPS data analysis
software, GPS map development software, GPS vehicle tracking and
reporting system, GPS web based mapping and reporting system for vehicle
tracking applications, GPS control room software.
GPS Development Services: An Introduction
GPS application development, contracting and programming services are
changing the way geographical data is collected and manipulated.
GPS stands for global positioning system, and comprises an arrangement
of 24 satellites that orbit the earth. With the use of computers, GPS
applications and development services can be used to find the exact
geographical location of a ground receiver. Created by the U.S.
Department of Defense, the GPS system locates the receiver using the
time differences that arise when signals from different satellites reach
the receiver. This "triangulation" of signals has an accuracy of 10 to
100 meters with more sophisticated GPS application development aiming
for an accuracy of a few meters. GPS development and programming, which
was prevalent in scientific institutions, is available for public use
from the US Department of Defense and is now affordable enough for
personal use. With a GPS receiver, a person on earth can at any time
locate his precise latitude, longitude, and altitude.
The first GPS satellite was launched in 1978. The satellites in use
today are second generation or Block II, with the first of them launched
in 1989. However, it took till 1995 for the US Department of Defense to
make GPS services fully operational.
The satellites used by GPS applications are spaced so that from any
point on earth, four satellites will be above the horizon. Normally 8 or
more satellites are visible to a GPS receiver. The satellites contain an
atomic clock (for time accuracy), radio and a computer and continuously
broadcast (through radio) their changing position and time to the GPS
receivers. The GPS receivers have computers that triangulate their
position from three satellites and display the longitude and latitude.
The fourth satellite is used to determine the altitude. Most GPS
applications are equipped with displays and digital maps to inform the
user of his location on a map. GPS receivers also have some memory to
store personal navigation data.
In the case of GPS applications and services in vehicles, systems may
also be able to calculate the time of arrival at a destination. These
systems allow you to trace your path by remaining in communication with
the satellites.
GPS Development:
Application Areas
The most apparent use of GPS application development, programming and
contracting services is in navigation systems. Early applications of GPS
development and programming were in military tracking, surveying and
navigation. However, it is increasingly being used as a personal system
for use in vehicles, for travelers, adventurers, and pilots to receive
not only position information but also information about weather and
traffic conditions. GPS receivers are also available as hand-held
devices and laptop computers as well.
In commercial transport companies that run fleets of vehicles, GPS
application development will be a major factor in better management.
Other industries that will take to GPS services include courier and
shipping services. Government Law Enforcement agencies and Emergency
Medical services, will all use GPS programming and applications to
quickly navigate and reach destinations.
In science, the accuracy and constant availability of GPS services is an
advantage. An offshoot of GPS is GIS or Geographic Information Systems
that can help in environment management by providing more accurate field
measurements than topographic maps. Other scientific applications
include the use of GPS application development services to measure the
movement of the tectonic plates and arctic ice sheets, and to detect
volcanic activity.
